If you enjoy the outdoors, then the Hoh (pronounced as hoe) Rain Forest is a place where it meets you head on. Greenery abounds here, along with a huge variety of flora and fauna. But be sure to bring your umbrella!
I can recall clearly how some friends and my family camped out at the Rain Forest for some 3 or 4 days. Walking through the heavy moss laden trees was quite stimulating. Then chancing upon a clean, clear running stream, we decided to do a little bit of “string fishing.” Not sure what that is?
It is fishing without the aid of a pole. You know, just the line (string) with hook and bait. The fish do not know what to do when there is a tasty tid-bit in front of them…except to bite it!
Yep! The fishing was great. Between the 3 of us guys, we had about 23 or 24 stream fed rainbow trout. Man O man did we have a great fish fry that night!
I’ll post up a blog with more details about the Rain Forest here in Washington.
